In Karen State, the KNLA and allied forces attacked and captured the Kuseik Bridge Security Army Camp in Phapun town, seizing large and small weapons, and defense drone jammers, KNU-Mutraw News Agency reported.

The KNLA No. 5 Brigade and allied forces launched an attack on the Kuseik Bridge Security Army Camp on November 6, and on November 9, they attacked and seized it, the statement stated.

At present, BGF troops are also stationed at the Katai Hte camp near Phapun. Following the battle, although the military council's forces bombed the area around Phapun from the aerial, no local residents were killed and affected, a resident stated.

"There have been bombardments because of the battles that are happening; the other day, there were about four or five; then they go back; It's not every day, but they bombard when there's fighting; sometimes, even when there’s no battle, they still bombard; the BGF are stationed at the Katai Hte camp; we don’t even see a shadow of them," he said.

In addition, due to ongoing clashes between the junta and KNLA forces in Phapun town, four wards in Phapun and nearby villages such as Chaungthaya, Mahtaung, Kuseik, Tankuntai, Shankai, Walnaung, and Nyaungpin, over 5,000 residents have fled to areas like Hpan, Kamamaung, Owntaw, and Myainggyi Ngu due to the fighting, a female displaced person said.

“Now, there is no one left there; there are many Karen villages, but most of the Karen people live in the forests and mountains; almost all the villages along the main road have fled down,” he said.

After capturing the Kuseik camp, the bodies of eight military council soldiers were found inside, and two members of the KNLA allied joint forces were injured, but not seriously, according to the statement.

On October 29, the KNLA 5th Brigade and allied joint forces also managed to attack and capture the military council's Khao Pote camp in Phapun town, capturing 17 military council troops along with their weapons.
